St Thomas' & St Oswald's get-together at Kyneton
Welcome to our
website.
We are a
three-centre parish situated in Northern Victoria, which
enjoys a pleasant climate. The drought
conditions we had experienced over recent years was dramatically
reversed in January 2011 when much of the Parish was flooded.
The area is very flat to undulating - supporting diverse agriculture
both dryland and irrigation, however increased shortage of water
supply is of great concern.
The parish consists of
two towns, Pyramid Hill and Boort,
and the country centres
of Bears Lagoon and Calivil that combine to
worship at St John's in Bears Lagoon. With the distance
between each centre being over 40kms our Rector spends considerable
time in her car!
An open and friendly group
we are very ecumenically minded.
Services are mostly traditional but relaxed and flexible.
We enjoy music, with Together in Song used in all centres.
Our parish belongs to the Diocese of
Bendigo - the provincial city of Bendigo is within an hours drive

OUR PARISH PRAYER
"The steadfast love of
the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to
an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness."
Lamentations 3. 22-23
Heavenly father, we
give you thanks and praise for the beauty
of the created world.
May we love and care for the earth.
May there be peace and justice among nations.
We pray that Christians in the country will experience
a surge in faithfulness.
Reassure us Lord that there is so much the Christian church has
to offer the world.
We give thanks for Bishop Andrew, Rev'd Heather, and pray for
the well-being of the Diocese.
We ask a blessing on our local communities, ourselves, and our
families,
and give thanks for those who have gone before.
We continue to pray for seasonal weather and to give thanks
for the rain that has fallen.
We pray also for mutual respect between those who grow the food
and those who consume it.
May the needs of the people in country areas be of real concern
to local, state and federal government.
We give thanks for the democracy in which we live.
Lord, our young people are the future of this land.
We give thanks for those who grow up in our area, and pray
for their continued blessing.
Make known your will in all things. In Jesus name, Amen.
