THE ANGLICAN CHURCH OF ST THOMAS in PYRAMID HILL |

Confirmation
Service at St Thomas -

Anglican church services were first held in
Pyramid Hill in early
1885.
In 1887 St Thomas' Church was opened and dedicated.
The lovely little weatherboard church with chancel, vestry and porch, and a bell
tower, occupied a triangular piece of land between two main roads facing the
town centre.
On May 14th 1972 the new St Thomas' Church building was opened and dedicated -
built on the same site. Worship at St Thomas' is
mainly traditional although somewhat less formal than in the past.
Music is a mix of traditional and modern, the congregation happily embracing
both styles.
Every member is part of a roster group. Groups take it in turns to be
responsible for the greeting, readings, offerings, and hospitality at morning
tea and the bring-and-share lunches.
This wonderful time of fellowship is a valued time for
everyone.
Pyramid Hill Christians have a strong commitment to ecumenism, evident in many
shared activities. The Anglican and Uniting Church congregations worship
together on the third Sunday of each month, alternating between St Thomas' and
Tyndale Memorial Church.
Rev'd Heather leads a service at the local Aged Care Hostel
each month. The residents look forward to this time of worship, music and
fellowship.
Services are held each Sunday.......
1st Sunday of the month Eucharist at 11.00am followed by a bring & share lunch
2nd Sunday of the month Eucharist at 9.00am
3rd Sunday of the month a lay-led Morning Prayer service at 9.00am*
4th Sunday of the month Eucharist at 9.00am

* The Anglican and Uniting congregations join together for
worship on the 3rd Sunday of each month alternating between churches.
